Commercials during the Superbowl are a thing

This past weekend was Superbowl Sunday. This is the day when the Superbowl, the championship game of the NFL (National Football League)  is played in the US. Where it’s a really big deal. The game is watched by millions of football fans (American football – not to be confused with soccer, which is called football in every part of the world except the US). For many of those millions, it’s a chance to watch the two best teams of the season go head-to-head, or chest-to-chest, in what is inevitably an exciting and dramatic sporting competition.
